Ivo Bokulic, viola

Born in Croatia, raised in Chicago, and based in San Francisco, Ivo Bokulic is Associate Principal Violist of the San José Chamber Orchestra and also holds positions with Opera San José & Berkeley Symphony. An active freelance musician in the Bay Area and beyond, Ivo performs with groups such as the New Century Chamber Orchestra, Utah Festival Opera, Santa Rosa Symphony, San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, California Symphony, Reno Philharmonic and Reno Chamber Orchestra, Marin Symphony, Oakland Symphony, Fresno Philharmonic, Modesto Symphony Orchestra, Monterey Symphony, Santa Cruz Symphony, Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera, Pacific Chamber Orchestra, and One Found Sound. As member of San Francisco’s Magik*Magik Orchestra, Ivo has toured, recorded, and performed with acts such as Death Cab for Cutie, Sting, Chicago, and Third Eye Blind. He holds both Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he studied with Jodi Levitz.
