Georgeanne Banker is a bassoonist who loves to play both historical and modern instruments. She is a co-founder of the democratic orchestra One Found Sound and appears in the 23-24 season with Tafelmusik; Piffaro, The Renaissance Band; Carmel Bach Festival; TENET; Relic; and Mercury Chamber Orchestra. Georgeanne has written for Playbill and she is a regular contributor of program notes for The Juilliard School. Always eager to share the love of her craft, Georgeanne’s pre-concert talks were hailed as “funny and engaging” by the San Francisco Classical Voice. She is a proud new mom and when she’s not making reeds, she’s happy to chat about running, video games, and how to catch up on sleep. Georgeanne holds degrees from The Juilliard School, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and McGill University.
